Hi my name is Meika. I started transitioning back to natural in Oct 2010. I made the choice simply because I was over my hair growing to a certain length, and eventually breaking off. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong. I transitioned for two full years slowly cutting out the relaxed hair. I at that point was still straightening my hair every two weeks but it was growing long and healthy. In the midst of transitioning my stylist, and I noticed my hair was actually pretty curly and coily! Hiiiii Beauties & CURLfriends! My name is Brittany, and some may know me as “BeautywithBJ” on Youtube and Instagram. Let me first start by confessing: while many may have decided to go natural, I was sort of forced to. Forced as in, I didn’t have much of a choice once I experienced a cute protective style gone WRONG and the results were irreversible. [In short: I had Senegalese twists installed. When the stylist installed them she used beeswax AND Spritz in my hair, unbeknownst to me. It was not until I kept them in for about 1.5 months and tried to take them out that I realized my hair had begun to lock and knot in the majority of places around my head]. Hi I'm Bri, I first started going natural in 2011.I was over spending money on perms and visits to the hair salon. I cut my permed hair into a short style and transitioned out of the short style by using protective styling. As my hair got longer I began using heating tools which damaged my hair. I did my second big chop(my current style) myself at the end of 2015 to get rid of the damage. I love my short natural cut but I plan to start growing it out this year. (more…)...

Hey Curly Ladies! My name is Jasmine, and this is my second time going natural. The first time I transitioned for two years. I started in 2012 as what I would call a "straight natural," meaning it wasn't relaxed, but I kept it straightened. I experienced lots of heat damage, and I was unhappy with my ends being straight. After two years, I gave up. I relaxed my hair and wore a short cut. I guess I got sucked in from all the cute short styles I would see on Pinterest. This style was short lived, and after 5 months I decided to do the "Big Chop." This was August 2014, not to mention I was 8 months pregnant.
