Hello! My name is Shauna Beni and I am currently a senior at Plattsburgh State University. I am also the President of a natural hair club on campus called K.I.N.K.S (Kollectively Inspiring Naturally Curly Hair Students). My natural hair journey started back in high school during 2013. From the age of 10, I was always getting my hair straightened because I did not know how to appreciate my natural curls. My name is Stephanie and I'm a 21-year-old beauty, life and style blogger. I started my natural hair journey in June 2013. I wanted a fresh start because my hair had been through so many relaxers, head damage and color damage. So, with a pair of clippers (and help from my brother) I shaved my head completely. This was a pivotal moment in my life. This transition was hard and more mentally challenging than anything. However, going natural was the best decision I've made by far. I've learned to love myself, my hair and my skin. I now have more confidence and appreciation for what was given to me to work with! My #1 rule for maintaining my curls is hydration!  I have low porosity hair, so making sure that it's properly moisturized is the key to keeping my curls from being damaged.
