Hey Curly Sisters! My name is Juliette and I would love to tell you all about my journey. Since I was about 6 years old, My hair was relaxed. That’s 21 years of not knowing my natural texture!!! I always wanted to be natural, but was too scared to actually take the plunge. I let everyone’s interpretation of what “beauty” was influence me and I was tired of it. So summer of 2015 I did the big chop and it was the best decision I have ever made. I’ve never felt so free and so beautiful.

It was hard at first and still is trying to figure out what products work best for me. In the beginning of my journey, I became a product hoarder and bought everything I saw on YouTube. But I realized that less is more, so I focus on key products and stick with it. I bleached my hair recently so moisture is even more of a necessity. Since the beginning I have been using Shae moisture the “coconut hibiscus” line and as for oils I use Jamaican black castor oil and tea tree oil.

I stay away from manipulation, which is my #1 rule for maintaining my curls. Stay away from heat! I only straighten my hair every 3 months or so for a trim. I also create styles that’ll keep my hair intact for a few days or more. Natural hair isn’t easy, but It’s worth it. I’ve become more and more in love with my curls. I encourage everyone to go for it and get to know their curly tresses. Natural is beautiful and don’t let anyone tell you different!!
