My name is Dez and the number one rule for me when maintaining my curls has always been using little to no heat on my hair mainly meaning straightening that has always been a huge thing for me that I definitely wanted to stop that habit once I did that I could see the transformation with my curls. Hi my name is taylor! I Deep conditioning twice a month, sealing my ends with deep conditioner, and trims every 6 weeks I have a awesome stylist in Houston named Emily at tendrils and curls! One day 3 years and I dyed my hair blonde and the stress gave me alopecia in the back of my head and I had two bald patches so I decided to dye my hair black and cut my hair to my shoulders and I just kept cutting still it was all grown out. My number 1 rule in maintaining my curls is CONSISTENCY. I have a very strict routine that I have been sticking to for years and it helped my hair to be what it is today. Hey Curlies!! My name is Nicole, I decided to transition to natural. I cut off my relaxed ends in March of 2013. I went natural because I was tired of the expense that came with a relaxer. To me, my relaxed hair was so thin and I've always had a dry itchy scalp. So, my main goal was to have thicker and healthier hair. When I first went natural, I straightened my hair and wore weaves a lot. I really had no clue about different natural styles. I have 3 tips for maintaining my curls. First, minimum or NO HEAT. My relaxed hair never relaxed properly due to my sensitive scalp so my hair was able to retain most of its natural texture.
