Hey everyone! My name is Crystal Shaw and I transitioned to natural 2x. In fact the first time I began transitioning I didn't know that there was a "natural hair movement" so to speak. I was in college and I was tired of relaxing my hair so I just decided to stop (I'm very spontaneous sometimes). I'm an eighties baby and have been natural for most of my life. It's so surreal now to have all these products tailored specifically for naturally curly hair because hunny child the struggle was real for me back then! I chemically straightened my hair for about 5 years before making the decision to go back natural. But even then I was under the misconception that I could do anything to my hair because it was natural. It was dyed every color under the sun, flat ironed, braided.... you name it, I did it! My curl pattern changed so many times! It was not until Dec 2013 when I did another semi big chop because of heat damage, that I decided to stay away from heat and it has been the best decision I could ever make for my hair! Hi everyone! My name is Rachella but I am also known as "fro mama" as I am mother to a beautiful daughter and have a baby boy due in February. I first went natural in April 2014 after damaging my hair through heat and colouring to the point where my hair actually snapped off just above my shoulders. The first time I decided to do my big chop my hair was in very bad condition from relaxers and hair dye. Hello! My name is Yolanda B. I am a Web Design student and Mom. I decided to cut off all of my perm at the beginning of my pregnancy in 2011 due to damage from harsh chemicals however, after my big chop I continued to wear weaves. My natural hair story. I went natural because there was no other way for me to go... My natural hair journey really began in the summer of 2015 when I decided to go three months with no heat. Even though I was already off the creamy crack for close to ten years; it didn't matter; I was addicted to heat (Wash-blow dry-straighten) so the damage was already done.
