Hi curly girls I'm Iman. For starters I'm 22. I am currently a college student majoring in Computer Information Systems. Honestly I don't really have a great or fantastic reason for joining the natural community. I just decided one day that I wanted to start the natural process and that's what I did. I have been fully natural for about 2 years now. Initially I started transitioning in Nov. 2014 , but that was definitely a no go for me. So in June of 2015 I spontaneously decided to do the big chop. Doing so was not a hard decision for me because I've had my hair cut super short once before. So I guess I just had the mentality of the song "Let it Go" from the movie Frozen. I can say that on my natural journey I have realized managing my hair has been a much easier process than I thought. I’ll start off by saying being “natural,” was one of the best things I’ve committed to since my last perm in 2012. I did not always love my hair texture, as a matter of fact, I despised it. My coils were untameable. I was addicted to the “ creamy crack” for so long that I would perm my hair every two weeks. To the extent, thatI had no regard to protect my roots because my vantage point of beauty was distorted. Hello my curlyfriendsssss ☺ My name is Brittany and I decided to go natural in 2015. I’m a YouTube fanatic so I would always look on YouTube for videos about weave and make up all the time. As I watching these videos, I came across videos of natural hair YouTubers, and I fell in looooooove. Around late 2014, my hair began to break off from sew ins and not taking care of my hair. I cut my hair into a pixie cut in October of 2014. After this cut, my hair grew tremendously. So I began to think, now is a good time to begin transitioning. Hey beauties, My name is Dominique, this is my second time going natural and doing my big chop. The first time I decided to do my big chop my hair was in very bad condition from relaxers and hair dye. I was natural for exactly a year and then put another relaxer in my hair which was a huge mistake. So I did big cop #2 because I missed my curls so much. Hii lovelies! My name is Talaya, and once I went natural, I NEVER went back! Lol. I've been natural for about a year and a half now. I've cut my hair into a pixie style several times now, but it wasn't until my last big chop that I became 100% natural and stopped getting relaxers. I absolutely love all natural hair. I feel that it is so beautiful and brings so much personality to the table! I cut my hair in May of 2015 and let it grow until August of 2016 before I decided to chop it all off again lol.
